From Port Williams to Paradise From Granddaughter to Grandmother

Paulette was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley. She grew up in Port Williams and after marrying her husband David and living in Halifax for three years, moved into Dave’s family home in Paradise where she had two daughters, Lori and Cathy.

Paulette enjoyed walking, exercising and gardening until two years ago, when she developed a neurological disorder that limits her activities. A published author, she co-authored books about teaching, reading and writing; Paulette was involved in numerous educational and community organizations, and conducted workshops as part of educational conferences throughout North America.

Paulette has always liked to find creative ways to use pictures and words to record her ideas and express her feelings, especially personal poetry. In this book, from Port Williams to Paradise (From Granddaughter to Grandmother), Paulette has used her forty years of writing experience to document the changes and blessings in her life. Her three grandchildren, Haley, Dillon and Kristen live nearby and bring much joy; as does working with Dave on the formatting of his series of local histories.

As Paulette says, “When life changes, you have the opportunity to give up or try to learn from it. It is much more fun to meet the challenges head-on rather than running from them.”

Her memoir shows how she has lived her life with this motto in place.
